Cuban Sandwich

Comfort food helps me concentrate and tastes good. It’s a win-win situation. So, if you want to try this hearty recipe let me know if you love it as much as I do. Hope you enjoy it.

Cuban Sandwich

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 loaf Cuban bread

  • ¼ cup yellow mustard

  • 8 slices Swiss cheese

  • 16 slices maple glazed honey ham, about 1 pound

  • 16 slices Cuban style pork, about 1 pound

  • 10 - 12 slices dill pickle planks

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. If you have a sandwich presser that works best. If not you can add just a little butter in a saucepan and press each side until the sandwich is flat and crunchy.

  2. Slice the loaf of bread into 4 equal pieces and then each piece lengthwise. Spread the mustard on the inside of each half.

  3. Place the swiss cheese on the inside of each half.

  4. On one half of each sandwich, place 4 slices of maple-glazed honey ham and 4 slices of pork.

  5. Place 4-5 pickle planks on top of the ham and then close the sandwich.

  6. Place the sandwich in a sandwich presser. Cook until the cheese is melted and the outside is crispy about 5 minutes. If you are using a sauté pan, heat over medium-high heat. Cook 2- 3 minutes per side. Once removed if not flat enough then place on a plate and with a paper towel press the sandwich to flatten.

  7. Transfer the sandwich to a cutting board and slice it in half.

    Serve and enjoy!
